Job Description
Technopolis Association of Kenya (TAK) is seeking a visionary and dynamic Head of Training and Consultancy to lead our professional development and advisory portfolios. This senior leadership role is based at our headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The Head of Training and Consultancy will design, scale, and oversee TAK’s commercial training programs and specialized advisory services. You will bridge the gap between technology, academia, and industry, ensuring our members and corporate clients leverage cutting-edge tech ecosystems, smart city frameworks, and digital transformation strategies.

Strategic Leadership
- Formulate Growth Strategies: Develop and execute long-term strategic plans for the Training and Consultancy business units to drive revenue and market impact.
- Curriculum Innovation: Oversee the creation of emerging tech training programs, including AI, cybersecurity, data science, and digital transformation.
- Market Positioning: Identify market trends, industry gaps, and commercial opportunities to position TAK as the leading tech advisory firm.
- Establish strategic partnerships with global tech firms, government bodies, and universities.
- Lead Tech Advisory: Direct high-value IT and business consultancy projects for corporate clients, government agencies, and non-profits.
- Curate high-impact certification programs in AI, IoT, smart city planning, and cyber security.
- Oversee the recruitment of industry-expert facilitators, adjunct lecturers, and trainers.
- Implement quality assurance frameworks to maintain high training delivery standards.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, enterprise clients, and donor organizations.
- Proposal & Bid Management: Lead business development efforts to secure tech-consulting tenders and corporate contracts, formulation of technical and financial proposals for lucrative consulting expressions of interest (EOIs) and tenders.
- P&L Responsibility: Manage the annual budget, pricing models, and financial targets for the entire department to ensure profitability.
- Quality Assurance: Establish rigorous monitoring and evaluation metrics for training delivery and consulting outputs.
- Talent Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing pool of internal consultants, corporate trainers, and subject matter experts.
Requirements
- Academic Background: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in corporate training, management consulting, or human capital development, with at least 3 years in a senior management role within a tech consultancy or corporate training firm.
- Proven Track Record: Proven success in managing a profitable business unit or generating significant commercial revenue from training/consulting, and demonstrated success in winning consulting bids and managing large-scale corporate training projects.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep understanding of Kenya’s digital economy, tech hubs, and tech-enabled public policy.
- Commercial Acumen: Exceptional skills in financial modeling, pricing strategies, and contract negotiation.
- Communication: Outstanding public speaking, presentation, and executive report-writing skills.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to network comfortably with C-suite corporate executives and senior government dignitaries.
- Agility: Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment adapting to rapid technological shifts.
