Job Description

TAK is the apex body driving innovation, technology adoption, and digital talent acceleration in Kenya. We connect public sector initiatives, tech hubs, private corporations, and academia. Our upcoming TAK Career Hub will serve as the definitive nationwide platform where external tech corporations, startups, and global enterprises advertise career opportunities, source vetted talent, and build local capacity.

Purpose of the Role
As the Head of Career Services, you will treat the association’s career arm as a high-growth business unit. You will be responsible for designing the platform's commercial strategy, building strategic partnerships with external employers, and maximizing revenue through job board advertisements, corporate talent-sourcing packages, and career events.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & B2B Sales
  • Drive revenue by selling job posting subscriptions, featured employer profiles, and targeted recruitment packages to external companies.
  • Pitch TAK’s career platform to HR leaders, tech executives, and recruitment agencies across Africa.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with universities and technical institutions to guarantee a pipeline of top-tier talent for advertising employers.
2. Platform Management & Operations
  • Oversee the launch, maintenance, and optimization of the TAK digital career portal.
  • Ensure a seamless user experience for both advertising companies and job-seeking candidates.
  • Set, monitor, and report on commercial KPIs, including monthly recurring revenue (MRR), job fill rates, and platform engagement.
3. Event & Campaign Execution
  • Conceptualize and execute large-scale virtual and physical tech career fairs, hackathons, and networking mixers funded by corporate sponsors.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to run targeted campaigns attracting high-quality tech talent to the platform.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6–8 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within commercial job boards, corporate recruitment agencies, tech talent platforms, or B2B SaaS sales.
  • Network: A proven, active network of HR decision-makers and C-level executives within the Kenyan and regional tech ecosystem.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of digital marketplace dynamics, B2B sales pipelines, and modern applicant tracking systems (ATS).
