Job Description
Technopolis Association of Kenya seeks a dynamic Business Development Executive to drive county-level innovation and grassroots economic projects. Key responsibilities include forging county partnerships, scaling MSME digital programs, and executing grassroots value-chain strategies.
The main role is to drive grassroots technology partnerships, mobilize resources, and support nationwide economic empowerment projects aligned with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
The Business Development Executive will spearhead the rollout of decentralized innovation hubs, County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) support, and digital transformation toolkits. The role directly aligns with the government's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), ensuring grassroots micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), youth, and cooperatives access technology, incubation, and market linkages.

Key Responsibilities
- County Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with County Governments, local TVETs, and grassroots producer cooperatives to integrate local economic nodes into the national tech and innovation grid.
- Grassroots Project Implementation: Support the operationalization of regional digital hubs, constituency maker-spaces, and enterprise support interventions under BETA.
- Resource Mobilization & Value-Chain Expansion: Identify strategic partnerships, secure project funding, and scale grassroots digital hubs, MSME support initiatives, and investment pipelines suited for county-level enterprise growth.
- MSME Capacity & Market Linkages: Facilitate training, digital platform onboarding, and market access programs for local artisans, traders, and youth groups at the ward and county levels.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report metrics on county project uptake, job creation milestones, and community economic impact.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing Project Management, Economics, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in business development, resource mobilization, or managing community-impact projects.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge of Kenya’s digital and innovation landscape.
